What's Happening
Citizens Budgetary Oversight Committee (CBOC) for the IRSD
Thursday, September 7th to Tuesday, November 7th
Dear Refuge Homeowners,
I wanted to share information with you related to the Indian River School District ( http://www.irsd.net/referendumIRSD) tax increases that were recently implemented. I was selected to become a member of the Citizens Budgetary Oversight Committee (CBOC) for the IRSD. This committee was formed as a result of the public referendum that was held and approved in March 2017. (http://www.irsd.net/referendum)
For FY18, you will experience an increase in your property tax bills. My goal is to make you aware of these changes and the resultant increases.
The table HERE below depicts the tax rates (per $100 of assessed value) that will result in changes to your FY18 tax bill.
Despite the increases, Indian River District still has the lowest school property tax rate in Sussex County. For more information please visit these websites:
To calculate your estimated tax increase:

I am planning to speak to you about the CBOC at the upcoming Refuge Annual HOA meeting on Saturday, November 4. Additional information will be forthcoming.
Regards,
Rose Watkins
