Welcome to The Refuge at Dirickson Creek! More than a destination, a community should be welcoming and also inspire residents toward common goals. We encourage all residents to be involved in making The Refuge the best it can be to benefit us all. Our community’s website is intended to serve as a comprehensive resource for current and potential residents, and for the public.

Pool Decking Surface Update:The Refuge at Dirickson Creek Home Owners Association is currently involved in a civil lawsuit with the contractor that installed the deck coating on the community pool last fall.  The coating has delaminated and the Refuge has received two expert reports which recommend complete removal and replacement of the coating.  The contractor refused to correct its work and sued the Owners Association for payment in full for the work it performed.  The Refuge Home Owners Association has retained an attorney specializing in construction issues and countersued the contractor for the costs to repair and correct the defective work.  The lawsuit could take some time to resolve.  In the meantime, the Association is soliciting proposals to  perform the repair work in the fall immediately after the pool closes and weather permits.  The Board will continue to provide updates to the HOA.
NEW - No Application Fee when submitting a Refuge HOA Architectural Control Committee Request: At the request of the ACC, the Board of Directors has agreed to remove the fee for any homeowner who submits a request to modify or enhance any part of their lot or exterior of their home. An application and necessary plans will still be required, and no work may commence until written approval is received by the homeowner. The application and guidelines may be found on the Documents tab of this site.
Project Details & Scope of Work for Sunset Park: With the loss of natural habitat from human development and invasive species, how we manage our land as gardeners is becoming increasingly important to the conservation of North American wildlife. The goal of Ecological Restoration Landscaping is to help conserve biodiversity by creating landscapes reminiscent of natural plant communities using native plant species. Click Here to see the plan that includes the complete scope of the project.
Pool Duty: We have one week that still needs to be filled for pool duty, August 16-22. Your help is greatly appreciated in helping keep our pool costs down. Please contact Wanda Raleigh at or 410-570-1226.
Attention fellow Dirickson Creek watershed residents: The CIB (Center for the Inland Bay), Your Creek, Dirickson Creek watershed team volunteers have finalized the on line survey project. It takes about 5 minutes to complete the survey, which asks about how you use the creek, and what your environmental concerns are. It will be interesting to see the compiled results in a few months. This is the first ever survey of its kind for our creek. Love Creek, to our north, was the first Your Creek project, of the 14 inland bay tributaries in Delaware. More....
Our homes and gardens and lawns have a huge impact on the Dirickson Creek, Our Creek. The CIB survey of uses and opinions about the Creek will be used to identify actions for Creek protection and improvement. Please take 5 minutes and take this survey, Click Here.
